Your Teeth Are Alive - They are Vital Sensory Organs

The face and the mouth account for 30 to 40 percent of the body's sensory and motor nerves. It is the most sensitive part of the body.

Many of us incorrectly think of our teeth as dead organic tissue with no function apart from chewing food, and flashing smiles. However, our teeth have a blood, nerve, and lymph supply; they are just like our liver, stomach, or intestine.

They literally have a cranial nerve with an autonomous nerve system. They are the organs that are anatomically closest to the brain.

For years, scientists pondered over the sometimes 9 foot long "tusk" in the mammalian Narwhal.

We now know that the tusk is a left canine tooth extending from their upper lip. It is composed of dentin and covered in thousands of nerve endings. The tusks help them sense the environment around them. They can feel their surroundings similar to how a human's broken tooth would have feeling.

It is time we promise ourselves to take the best care of our vital teeth. Dr. Senn's products are designed to allow our vital teeth to remain in harmony with the rest of our bodies.
